“‘If Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.’ The resurrection, therefore, is properly considered a proof of the person of Christ, His deity, Messiahship, and His power to save from sin. Upon the resurrection hangs the value and effectiveness of all His work in the past, present, and future. The resurrection of Christ is also related to the proper fulfillment of prophecy concerning its resurrection in both the Old and New Testament, and is demanded by the concept of the infallibility of the Scriptures.” (Page 100)

“It is also clear from the Acts of the Apostles that whenever the gift of tongues was exercised Jews were present. A careful reading of the passages involved will demonstrate this statement. Therefore, one must conclude that the gift of tongues was designed to be a sign to unbelieving Jews (cf. 1 Cor. 1:22).” (Page 149)

“The previous section dealing with the purpose of tongues indicates that this gift is a temporary gift. Since the New Testament was not complete, this gift was needed to validate the message which was being preached. After the canon of the Bible was completed, this gift was no longer necessary.” (Page 151)

“There is no trace of Scriptural evidence that to the Jews, for whom the gift was intended, tongues were ever heard as incoherent, incomprehensible, babbling.” (Page 231)

“Taken at face value, therefore, the Old Testament (specifically Isaiah 28:11–12) is here alleged by Paul to have prophesied the gift of tongues as a God-given sign to the Jewish nation—for the expression ‘this people’ can, in its Old Testament setting, refer to no other—and to have foretold as well the unbelieving rejection which, in spite of all, would be forthcoming from that same nation.” (Page 229)
