Dr. Darrell L. Bock, research professor of New Testament studies and professor of spiritual development and culture at Dallas Theological Seminary, serves as editor-at-large for Christianity Today, and is on the board of Chosen People Ministries and Wheaton College. From 2000 to 2001, Dr. Bock served as president of the Evangelical Theological Society.
He has earned international recognition as a Humboldt Scholar for his work in Luke-Acts, historical Jesus study, biblical theology, as well as with messianic Jewish ministries. He has published articles in the Los Angeles Times and The Dallas Morning News and is a well-known author of over 30 books. His publications include Studying the Historical Jesus: A Guide to Sources and Methods,Jesus According to Scripture, an NIV Application Commentary on Luke, Breaking the Da Vinci Code, and commentaries on Acts and Luke in the Baker Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament (BECNT) series.

Darrel Bock is simply a genius. He presents the aspects that classical dispensationalism really needs to correct. Those who throw hatred at this mobile ed really do not understand the progress that dispensationalism has made in the academy.

I enjoyed TH291 History and Trends in Dispensationalism over this class. I agree with the other comments, if you like Progressive Dispensation, you will like this. If you don't, it's a good one to pass by. I have enjoyed Dr. Brock's teaching on other books, you just need to be a good student and know what you believe and stand on that.

This is Progressive Dispensationalism that tries to tie Covenant Theology to that of Dispensational Truths very bad teachings. They try to use "WE" as if that applies to the Church as a Whole. True Dispensational Truths line up from a Hermeneutical Approach from Literal, Grammatical, and Historical Exegesis! I like Bock but this is truly a poor unfair addition to my Library! Get a Real Dispensational Teacher to teach this course Like Dr. Cone from Tyndale Seminary!

Darrell Bock explaining Dispensationalism? What a joke. Talk about letting the fox into the chicken coop! He's the one who is trying to destroy it. Progressive Dispensationalism is no dispensationalism. Having read most of what Bock has written...this is really a zero star but unfortunately that's not an option. For a full explanation of this go to the above website and click on "Progressive Dispensationalism" tab. There you can read a seminary paper that explains true basis of dispensational theology and at the same time completely refutes Progressive Dispensationalism.
