Journal of Modern Ministry covers a wide spectrum of topics that are applicable to anyone wishing to pursue good Christian living. Highly accessible to all, this journal contains practical information on all aspects of life, as well as a vast array of theological materials.

Founded by senior writer Dr. Jay Adams, the Journal of Modern Ministry was first published in May 2004 with two issues, and continued in 2006 with three issues planned each year. The extraordinary group of ministering author-editors involved in this journal also solicit articles from the finest men known today for their uncompromising biblical emphasis, and receive from lesser known writers articles they believe worthy of publication.

Thumbing through stacks and stacks of journals is now a thing of the past. You will no longer need to search hundreds of pages of print to find an article on the topic you were looking for, because Logos Bible Software will do the work for you instantaneously. Top Highlights

“Well, the word is used as a clever lawyer in some extra-biblical literature. A clever lawyer who deceptively, by his cunning, crawls into the mind of judge and a jury and turns them his way.” (Page 207)

“What are you doing in the ministry? Who are you serving? Is it about entrepreneurship? I don’t think so. It’s about servanthood. You know Who your Master is. A bond servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James. This is a little note of humility, because Jude was the half-brother of Jesus.” (Page 204)

“It is the job of Satan and the world to convince the believer that there is no hope.” (Page 29)

“The heart longs for many things it should not. This comes from the covetous desire that is at its core. It hungers for what it does not have, while selfishly believing it deserves these desires; and it hurts when it lacks something believed to be wrongfully denied. Self-gratification produces all of these idolatrous longings and they, in turn, fuel sexual behaviors and attitudes as a means to satisfy the cravings, or soothe the hurts.” (Page 37)

“‘For when the Scripture bids us leave off self-concern, it not only erases from our minds the yearning to possess, the desire for power, and the favor of men, but it also uproots ambition and all craving for human glory and other more secret plagues.’1 The beginning point for dealing with the heart-kingdom of lust does not involve Prozac or power encounters, but the power of Scripture.” (Page 36)
