Top Highlights

“In reading the Synoptics, we can sometimes forget the many events that occurred the last week: the Triumphal Entry, Jesus’ weeping over Jerusalem, the temple cleansing, the cursing of the fig tree, questioning by the religious authorities, Jesus’ woes to the Scribes and Pharisees, the Olivet Discourse, the Last Supper, and the entire series of Passion/Resurrection events.” (source)

“John is distinct because it is built around key themes in Jesus’ life; Matthew, Mark, and Luke are built around key events in His life (more or less chronologically). These three are called the synoptic Gospels. Synoptic is from a Greek word meaning ‘to view together or to summarize,’ and Gospel is from an Old English word for ‘glad tidings or the good news of Jesus Christ.’” (source)

“illuminate the text, enlighten your mind, humble your will, and comfort your heart. He will never let you down” (source)

“you must be sure to rely on the Holy Spirit to guide your study and your application of the Bible’s truths” (source)

“To be baptized is to be immersed into something or someone.” (source)
