“The Promise of the Law is the reward of the blessing of God gained through absolute obedience. In order to gain the blessing of God, your obedience must be: (1) personal: ‘If you listen to the commandment’ (Deut. 11:26); (2) perfect: ‘what does the LORD your God require from you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul’ (Deut. 10:12); (3) perpetual: ‘Oh, that they had such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always’ (Deut. 5:29. Yet upon closer examination, it is clear that God cannot do everything, for He cannot do anything which contradicts His character or nature.
