We all know that spending time with God is essential to an intimate, growing relationship with Him. Yet many of us struggle to make prayer a consistent, dedicated part of our daily lives. In Alone with God John MacArthur, Jr. explores the anatomy of effective prayer and presents a biblical model and offers powerful encouragement for anyone longing for a deeper, richer time of prayer. This is by far the most exciting book on Prayer I have ever read. Exciting, not because of some 10 step plan I should follow to be better in prayer, but excited at how MacArthur has drawn me closer to God's heart to understand why we pray as well. This should be a must read for any Bible study/Fellowship group wanting to be more serious about prayer. And I didn't realise until the end of the book that there is a very helpful study guide included in it as well. Please read this book now! You will not be disappointed

By far the best practical devotional I’ve gone through. What a contrast to the shallow and self centered ones that seem to be popular in mainstream Christianity. MacArthur never disappoints, he may make you rethink a lot but always points you back to the Word.
