Overview

Critical Review of Books in Religion 1988 expands and enhances the existing book review sections of JAAR and JBL by offering serious critical reviews of those books which are important for a broad range of scholars in the field of religious studies. In addition to reviewing a larger number of books, this inaugural volume of Critical Review includes review articles on textbook literature. These include Hebrew Bible Textbooks, New Testament Textbooks, Teaching the History of Judaism, Introductions to Hinduism, and American Religious History Textbooks.
