I’m going to Bellingham! ‘Take the Tour’ winner headed to Logos
Logos Bible Software celebrates 20th anniversary by hosting all-expenses-paid trip to Great Northwest headquarters
BELLINGHAM, Wash., June 26, 2012 — Even though he lives just miles from “The Happiest Place on Earth,” Logos Bible Software's “Take the Tour” winner won't be heard proclaiming a familiar local catchphrase this week. Rather, he'll be exclaiming something slightly different: “I'm going to Bellingham!” The happiest resident in Irvine, California, and his wife are embarking Wednesday on an all-expenses-paid trip to the headquarters of Logos Bible Software in Bellingham, Washington, to take a live tour of its Puget Sound campus. Jefferson Lee was selected from thousands to win the 20th-anniversary contest.
“I was excited!” exclaimed Lee, the international philanthropy director at Wycliffe USA, which has produced more than 700 Bible translations. “Then I thought... is this spam? I don't normally win a lot of things, so it was really nice. I'd really like to visit their office since [Wycliffe] provides translations for Logos Bible Software.”
While more than 12,000 have taken virtual tours of Logos via the company's “Take the Tour” video, Lee will, on June 27, be the first contestant to physically walk through Logos' doors. Besides touring Logos' national headquarters in the Pacific Northwest, Lee will be checking out popular nearby attractions in Seattle (coffee capital of America and home to Microsoft and Boeing) and Vancouver, BC, host of the 2010 Olympic Games and neighbor to the world-famous Whistler Ski Resort.
A barrage of comic book-styled captions greets “Take the Tour” viewers, hundreds of whom responded to an invitation to submit their own witty captions in the Caption Contest. Logos worked choice submissions into a new cut of the video tour, which can be viewed here.
Lee was excited to visit Logos, having used its Leader's base package to study Scripture for years. The winning contestant shared about the books he regularly adds, saying he loves that Logos users don't need an entire print library and that “it's nice to have [the library] all on one computer that I can carry around with me.” The powerful interactive Bible study tools of Logos 4 make tens of thousands of digital Christian resources accessible.
