Logos Bible Software for Mac Now Shipping
BELLINGHAM, WA—December 5, 2008—Logos Bible Software began shipping the much anticipated Logos for Mac today to individuals who pre-ordered the program on www.MacBibleSoftware.com.
Not being satisfied to simply port their windows version over to Mac using an emulator, Logos Bible Software spent three-and-a-half years rebuilding their award-winning Bible software from the ground up for Mac.
“With more and more of our users switching to Mac, it just made sense for us to build Logos for Mac,” said Bob Pritchett, President of Logos Bible Software. “Many Mac users have been running Logos using Boot Camp or programs like Parallels. We’re happy to announce they can now run Logos natively.”
Logos for Mac offers users powerful tools and resources that any scholar can appreciate, while at the same time providing an intuitive and easy-to-navigate user interface.
From the Home page of Logos for Mac, users can instantly begin rich, in-depth, Bible study. Entering a passage into the search box and clicking “Go!” opens a window full of information and resources for the user. The results include commentaries, cross references, parallel passages, maps, topics, and much more—all right there, all relating to the search query and ready to help the user get the most out of his or her Bible study.
Also available from the Home page is the Exegetical Guide. Typing in a verse and clicking “Go!” offers the user tools to aid in original language studies. From grammars to a word by word breakdown, Logos for Mac links to numerous titles within the program that help the user interact with a wealth of original language resources.
Good search functionality, like Logos for Mac offers, is really only as good as the resources the program is searching. This is where Logos really shines. To begin with, Logos for Mac offers five base packages that include anywhere from 170 to over 700 titles. These base packages are perfect for individuals looking to start a digital theological library. Logos also sells individual titles ranging from popular works by authors like John Piper to highly specialized texts like the Introduction to Akkadian. Whether you are looking to start a library or build on an existing one, Logos for Mac is the perfect solution.
For users looking for speed, Logos for Mac delivers. In the time it usually takes to find a book, pull it off the shelf and flip to your reference, Logos can search your entire digital library—potentially thousands of books—and return exact locations for the subject or reference you’re looking for. No more thumbing through indices or having 10 different books open on your desk. Logos for Mac is the biblical research assistant you’ve always dreamed about having.
