Software Products Bring Top Dollar
By Margaret Feinberg
...Logos Research Systems and ReSound Media are working together to bring video demonstrations of new Logos Bible Software to consumers though the ReSound Music Listening Centers in Christian retail stores across the country.
"CBA stores have been searching for a better way to sell Bible software for years," said Dan Pritchett, director of marketing for Logos Bible Software. "Stores that have provided live demonstrations of Bible software on in-store computers have done very well, but most stores don't have the staff or computers dedicated to showing software all day long. Now every store can sell software just by walking customers over to the ReSound system."
Interestingly, Pritchett notes that the company's best-selling product in units and dollars is their top-end package. The Scholar's Library-Logos Bible Software Series X with a retail price of $599.95 is Logos' No. 1 best-selling product. Pritchett noted that many people want the top of the line package. They are looking for professional level tools, and some shoppers will only buy the biggest and best.
"(The price) is a very scary things to most stores, but they should not be scared because it sells," Pritchett said. "It takes only 6 inches of shelf space or so, and even if you sell it for the maximum discount of $449.96, you still put $150.00 of pure profit in your pocket every time. One store told us (of a) manager (who) saw a customer in the Bible Reference section, walked over to her and asked her if she had a computer. She said 'yes,' (and) he took her over to see a demo of the software. Ten minutes later, she was walking out the door with a $600 product.
