Logos 3 | Installation Guide

Libronix DLS is deprecated. Development for the LDLS platform stopped with the release of Logos Bible Software 4 and 5.

Installing LDLS is a multi-part process. Please follow the steps below, in order, to complete your installation.

Step 1: Installing Libronix DLS

  1. Click here (7.2 MB) to download and install Libronix Update (required).
  2. When prompted, choose to Run (or Open) the file. Follow the prompts to install. When the install completes, proceed to step two.
  3. Click here to download the Libronix DLS 3.0g application (required).

After analyzing your system the Libronix Update dialog will appear. Scroll down and click the triangle next to Optional to expand that section. Check the box next for User Interface-English (United States), and/or other appropriate interface, to download optional addins.

Click on Update to start the download. When the download reaches 100% it will begin installing those files. The Libronix Update dialog will eventually reappear with a message that the installation is complete.

Already installed an older version? Updating from an older version of LDLS can be problematic. Click here for reinstall instructions.

Minimum System Requirements
  • 500MHz Pentium III (1GHz Pentium III recommended)
  • 192 MB RAM (512 MB recommended)
  • Windows XP
Note: Vista or higher are no longer supported.
    • Click here to install Logos 4 instead.
  • CD-ROM or DVD drive
  • 550 MB hard drive space*
  • 800x600 display (1024x768 recommended)
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0

Libronix DLS gives you the option of copying your book files to your hard drive or running from the disc. For optimal results (in terms of speed and convenience), we recommend that you copy all unlocked books to your hard drive. The additional hard drive space required varies by product.

Step 2: Activation

Now that LDLS is installed, open the new “Libronix Digital Library System” icon from your Desktop or Programs menu.

  • Navigate to Tools > Account Management.
  • You should be prompted to activate. Follow the prompts to finish your installation.

Did you already activate on a previous computer? You'll need to select "Existing User and follow the steps below.

  • Select “Existing User” and click Next.
  • If you have Libronix DLS Licenses Backup, select this option and follow the prompts.
  • If you do not have a backup, select “Enter Codes Manually” and use your Customer ID & Confirmation Code from your previous installation.
  • Click Next to continue and follow the prompts to finish Activation.

Step 3: Installing your Books

To save on hard drive space, Libronix DLS does not install books by default, but you may choose to copy your books to your hard drive. This can be done during Account Management or from Location Manager.

Copying Books from Account Management
During the Account Management process (above), you will likely be prompted to insert any discs for copying.
  • Choose “Yes” and click Next to continue.
  • Insert your CD or DVD.
Windows may open an “Autoplay” menu. You can ignore that for now.
  • LDLS should begin to Discover Resources and prompt you to copy them.
  • Repeat as necessary until you run out of LDLS discs.
Copying Books from Location Manager
If you are not prompted to copy books in Account Management, you can install them manually.
  • Insert your CD or DVD.
Windows may open an “Autoplay” menu. You can ignore that for now.
  • Watch the lower-right corner of LDLS for the words “Discovering Resources”
This indicates LDLS is reading your disc to find unlocked books.
  • Wait for “Discovering Resources” to disappear before continuing. This may take up to 10-15 minutes on some computers.
  • Navigate to Tools > Library Management > Location Manager.
  • Make sure “List Resources” is set to “Unlocked on Removable Media” (this means CDs & DVDs).
  • “Destination” should be set to your Libronix DLS\Resources directory.
  • Click the “Copy Resources” button to install the selected books.

Depending on your collection, you may not find books on every CD.

Step 4: Installing Additional Content

You may have additional content, like Product-Specific Home Pages and Downloadable Books. To install Home Pages, insert the installation CD for the desired product, Open the disc from your (My)Computer menu and run Setup.exe. A Libronix Update window will open. Click the “Update button.

To install downloadable books, you’ll need to visit your Orders Pages and download the necessary Downloadable Libronix Files. You'll need to save these files to your Libronix DLS\Resources directory.
