Josh is a scholar-in-residence at Logos Bible Software. He’s a PhD candidate (ABD) in ancient languages at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, under the supervision of Christo Van der Merwe. He also holds an MA in biblical languages from the University of Stellenbosch (cum laude), an Advanced Master of Divinity in biblical and theological studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a BA in biblical languages and theological studies from Houston Baptist University. Josh’s primary academic interest is the study of biblical languages through the application of contemporary linguistic theoretical approaches. Josh is passionate about helping people discover the joys of reading the Bible in its original languages. He is the cocreator of the Lexham Hebrew Discourse Bible and the Lexham High Definition Old Testament, and a coauthor of the forthcoming Discourse Grammar of the Hebrew Bible: A Practical Introduction for Teaching and Exegesis.
