Detailed List of Changes in LDLS 3.0a

This is a detailed list of new features and bug fixes in version 3.0a of the Libronix Digital Library System.

New Features

Shell

• Added EnableLogging64.reg for 64-bit Windows
• Disjoint Bible references are shown as separate items on the “Add Note To” context menu
• “Perseus Greek Word Lookup” command uses new Perseus web interface
• UserFileManager statistics now submit aggregate information about custom toolbars
• Move Note menu allows you to remove the highlighting from a note (i.e., detach it)
• The Help dialog's Search pane will promote articles whose titles match the search query to the top of the results list
• Account Management dialog provides easier way for pre-activated customers to enter their Customer ID and Confirmation Code
• New Edit > Move Note menu for updating the position of existing notes
• Added Copy command to Selected Text context menu
• New search hit highlighting colors are used in search result windows (as well as the resource windows)
• Reference Browser allows “narrow intersect” and "exact match" searches to be performed
• Report Target settings are now saved as part of a workspace
• Annotations are no longer upgraded at startup
• Corrected SBL citation style
• Sessions statistic reports the first day of the week that the program is run
• Search hits are highlighted with different background colors in resources (similar to Bible Speed Search results) 
• New “Alerts and News” statistics added
• UI of Statistics Panel (in Options dialog) changed to make the choice of sending statistics more explicit 
• Book cover image thumbnails are resized with a better algorithm (for improved display quality)
• Feature Use statistics reports the Bible reference or word that a report was generated on 
• Global History is persisted across sessions, so you can see where you were the last time you closed the program
• Active Reference drop down in resources supports multiple disjoint Bible references for the same article
• Search Results pages show hits in context by default
• Right-click > Selected Text > (Resource) uses word numbers (when available) to find the right article in the target resource
• The Active Reference box shows the most specific reference if there are multiple references at the current position (e.g., in Nag Hammadi Codices)
• Resource Use statistics now includes a list of resources that are hidden
• All major settings in the Options dialogs are included in the Preferences statistics
• Navigate to Associated Word in NASB95 also uses the new NA27s as potential targets
• UBS4 Pericope Set is unlocked with new UBS4 GNTs
• International users can use Tools > Unlock dialog to unlock over the Internet
• More reports ignore hidden resources correctly
• Global History truncates long resource titles
• Global History shows “back and branch” scenario correctly
• Improved Copying Resources panel in Account Management dialog
• Locked resources are not shown by default in My Library, search dialogs, etc.

Bible Analysis

• Bible Comparison graphs don't show both a reverse interlinear and its surface text as two separate resources
• Bible Clusters report shows all languages that have multiple Bibles   

Bible Tools

• Improved display of Bible Text Only in resources
• The NET Bible and The NET Bible (Noteless) are identified as same-surface Bibles
• The Morphological Bible Search dialog now displays a Morphology drop down list when “Group Similar Bibles” is unchecked; this allows you to pick the correct morphology when the selected resource supports multiple morphologies
• Added more Spanish resources to Passage Guide Topics section (and unified with Logos home page Topic Study resources list)
• Updated Greek and Hebrew keyboards to match the latest Windows keyboards
• Added SermonCentral.com section to Passage Guide
• Added “From Active Word Document” to Verse List Document's Add menu
• Hard-coded order of resources to use for glosses (in Exegetical Guide) was changed
• Analytical Lexicon of the Syriac New Testament added as a source for Syriac glosses
• Morphological Search dialog searches for text in the same language as the currently selected morphology (in resources that support multiple morphologies)
• Information Window now shows homograph information
• Bible Speed Search displays search help (e.g., about the “not” operator) while the search is running
• Resources from which text cannot be extracted (e.g., clause visualizer resources) are excluded from Passage In All Versions
• Bible Speed Search report added to “Searches” statistics
• Bible Word Study now shows grammatical relationships for Aramaic words
• Bible Speed Search will display a helpful message when the query contains reserved words (i.e., search operators)
• Bible Word Study now shows KeyLinks and Lemma sections when running on a Syriac word
• Hebrew Root Words section now comes before Greek Root Words section in Bible Word Study
• In Root Words section of Bible Word Study, removed link that launched a new Bible Word Study on that root word
• Anchor Bible Dictionary is now used by Definition section of Bible Word Study
• Word numbers are used to select the right underlying lemma for the Grammatical Relationships section in Bible Word Study. This improves the quality of the results if the Bible Word Study is launched from Hebrew Bibles other than Andersen-Forbes.
• The Grammatical Relationships and Translation sections in Bible Word Study use homograph numbers to display more accurate results for Andersen-Forbes
• Bible Word Study uses (and requires) reverse interlinears for both Old and New Testaments in the Concordance section
• Passage Guide displays previews of maps
• Copy Bible Verses sends font information for Greek and Hebrew text
• Speed Search This Resource for lemma matches marks and is language-sensitive
• Exegetical Guide prefers glosses in the UI language
• Englishman's Concordance command has submenu (on the context menu) if there is more than one lemma selected
• Bible Word Study report displays progress correctly for Search Analysis sections
• Morphological Search dialog displays lemmas with the font size set in Bible Tools Options
• Morphological Search dialog uses new “Lemma List” feature to display lemmas with glosses when a word is typed into the Lemma text box
• Bible Word Study report truncates long definitions and displays a “More” link
• Passage In All Versions displays the current Bible reference in the report  
• Passage Guide automatically hides sections if source resources are unavailable
• Improved display of Topics section in Passage Guide
• The “Bible Speed Search” command has been moved to the “Search” category (for custom toolbars)

Logos Bible Software (Home page)

• Logos Home Page uses new arrows instead of "Go!" (in localized UIs)
• Home Page displays “No results found” for an unsuccessful topic search
• Logos Bible Software home page displays localized logo in Spanish UIs
• News on the home page is displayed in the correct language when the UI language is changed (when available)
• Tell A Friend dialog has been replaced with a link to the Refer A Friend web page

Lectionary

• Lectionary Viewer report shows all readings for the current day

Original Languages

• Vocabulary List's Print Flash Cards command is also available on the File menu
• Word Lists use the correct font (for ancient languages) when printed   

Personal Bible Study

• Bible Reading Plan properties dialog has different wording for the "Break on Chapter Boundaries" option

Pronounce Original Languages

• Only loading the pronunciation dialog when needed (this should increase overall application speed for users who own the Pronounce Original Languages addin)

Sentence Diagramming

• Reduced amount of text movement when markup is applied in the Sentence Diagrammer
• Sentence Diagrammer now exports right-to-left text to PDF correctly
• Verse numbers are now inserted when a passage is inserted into the Sentence Diagrammer
• The Sentence Diagrammer's default vertical spacing has been increased to accommodate alternate text

Syntax Tools

• Syntax Search dialog has UI for choosing homograph numbers
• Syntax Search dialog can specify “not” morph constraints
• Syntax Search results shows “Searching...” while the search is running
• Previous morphological criteria are remembered when clicking Edit in Syntax Search dialog
• Improved speed of syntax searches (such as Grammatical Relationships in Bible Word Study)
• Clause Visualizer resources use word numbers when KeyLinking
• Improved speed of clause visualizer resources
• Improved display of clause visualizer resources on projectors and LCD monitors
• Clicking the “Search” button in a clause visualizer resource opens the Syntax Search dialog to the right database
• Syntax Search results shows the corresponding Bible references in a tooltip for the “page” links at the bottom of the report
• Andersen-Forbes syntax database and resources rebuilt with new morphology

Data Types

• Updated aliases for common morphological data types
• Added subtypes for Hebrew and Aramaic to Andersen-Forbes and WIVU morphologies

Help Files

• Added documentation on the Logos keyboards to the Bible Tools addin help file
• The help files have been updated to cover new 3.0a features

KeyLinking

• KeyLinking tables in HAL, Concise HAL, DBL Aramaic, and DBL Hebrew rebuilt for better KeyLinking
• KeyLinking has better support for Coptic and archaic Greek letters

• The NIGTC resource association is installed by default

  • "Body Part" semantics was erroneously removed in a previous build; now they're restored.
