This course equips you to go to the original language to study the Bible and get the most out of your Bible language aids. What’s more, this course will help you make the most of the powerful language tools of Logos Bible Software.
Greek in a Week is currently scheduled for December 17–19, 2009 in the following cities: Orlando, Atlanta, San Antonio, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. The course will take place only in the city with the greatest interest. To see Greek in a Week come to your city, register now!
With Greek in a Week, you can learn the logic and structure of the language instead of floating in a sea of paradigms for an entire year. After learning the basics, you can take your exegesis to a deeper level, and bypass the confusion created by so many divergent translations. Whether you want to begin learning Greek for the first time, or you’re a pastor and want to brush up on your language skills, Greek in a Week can help you take your understanding of the Greek New Testament to the next level.
Greek in a Week is a great introduction to Greek and the Greek tools in Logos.
—Greek in a Week student
Over the past decade, John Schwandt, Senior Fellow of Languages at New St. Andrews College, has developed and perfected Greek in a Week, a course that will equip you to study the Greek New Testament. Greek in a Week is attended by a variety of participants. Although pastors and church leaders make up most of the majority of the classes, attendees vary widely in age (16+) and background (students, parents, teachers, pastors). But everyone is bonded by their zeal for learning the language of Scripture.
If circumstances prevent you from attending Greek in a Week and you need to cancel your order, we kindly ask that you contact the instructor.
Praise for Greek in a Week
Here’s what students are saying about Greek in a Week:
I took this course to prepare me for my Greek classes in seminary. . . . It is a great way to prepare or refresh.
This was a great refresher course. The methods used were updated and more user friendly than the way I learned Greek over 30 years ago.
I have studied Greek since 1964 and taught college and graduate level for two great years. In the 20 years since I taught last, my knowledge began to fade and flaws came into my work. This was a fantastic tune-up.
As a beginning Greek student, Greek in a Week gave me a visual road-map overview of the subject. Now I don't feel so overwhelmed by the idea of mastering Greek grammar. I will recommend the course to my pastor associates.

Benefits of Greek in a Week for Your Study and Ministry
- The Greek in a Week program guarantees your knowledge of the language. Since all the study (e.g., vocabulary, paradigm reviews, translation and composition) is done under the immediate direction of the instructor, it is impossible to come away from the week without a considerable understanding of basic Greek.
- When Christians from various backgrounds come together and learn how to read and study the word of God in the original language, it reveals our tremendous unity in our love for the Scriptures. You will be able to see that unity as we work with the primary sources and look at what the original words allow or emphasize. Whatever the case may be, it is thoroughly encouraging to labor in the original word with other Christians all focused on the original text rather than their systematic theology.
- Greek in a Week provides a considerable advantage to pastors who want to jumpstart their understanding of Greek or students who plan to take Greek in the coming academic year. The student who has worked through the entire system of the language will be enabled to make the most of class by understanding the finer points of the lecture and asking insightful questions.
- Greek in a Week is also the perfect refresher for those who have studied a little Greek in the past but have forgotten most of it. The systematic approach to the course provides a map to collect and arrange all of those parts of the language that have slipped away. It will also add to the total body of knowledge and reading skill of anyone who has studied Greek in the past.
- Greek in a Week will grant clarity of understanding to those who have lost their way amid the many paradigms presented in a normal year of Greek. When the many details of the language are stretched out over the course of a year, it is easy to lose sight of which ones are more important and how they all relate to each other (missing the forest for the trees). Students who work through all of the basic grammar in just a few days gain a clear understanding of how the details connect.
- Greek in a Week will train you how to use language aids like Logos Bible software. You’ll learn how to you Logos to enhance and enrich your study of the Greek New Testament.
