I am a seminary student at Baptist Bible in Pennsylvannia, and for over 2 years I have had an intense desire to learn and read koine Greek.  This desire was really kindled when in my first year I took a survey of Greek literature class.  In this class I translated portions of the Septuagint (the ancient Greek translation of the Old Testament) as well as portions of the Apostolic Fathers and even Creeds.

When first attending the seminary I obtained the scholars edition of Logos and I am so thankful I did.  Without the aid of Logos I would not be half as proficient in Greek as I am today.  When reading the Septuagint and Apostolic Fathers for class I realized that I was only scratching the surface, and Logos helped me to dig deeper.  Portions of the Septuagint are intimidating because of new vocabulary and the lack of lexical aids that have been produced for the NT.  However with Logos I was able to read the Septuagint without being intimidated.  Strange parsing was made easy by merely waving my mouse over the word which gave me the complete morphology.  I also used the Greek Lexicons with the help of Key Link to determine unfamiliar vocabulary saving me a lot of time.

I can definitely credit Logos with greatly helping my Greek comprehension and I have since upgraded to the Gold edition and look forward to taking advantage of the Lexicon for the Septuagint that is available to me now with the upgrade.  Another bonus is that the Apostolic Fathers is being offered on prepub and I am definitely looking forward to that being available as well.

In my experience there is no better way to read Greek than with Logos.  After using it I can't imagine ever going back to manually looking up every word in the Lexicons.  I credit Logos with making my desire to further learn Greek both feasible and enjoyable.

After eleven years of medical training, I found myself right back where I had started: Broke, thousands of dollars in debt, no car, no cell phone, no job, and living with my parents. How could all this happen to a medical specialist who had trained and graduated from some of the top universities in North America?

I had completed my medical residency training at UCLA, but when my educational visa forced me to return back to my native country of Canada I didn’t qualify for a medical license, meaning I couldn’t practise medicine in any regard.

Through a rather odd series of events at a very discouraging time in my life, God placed the desire in my heart to write a non-fiction book series. The problem was, I had never written a book before and because I was living in a small town in central Ontario Canada, I didn’t have access to very many reference or theology books. And I didn’t have thousands of dollars to build an extensive library either.

My passion was to write a book series that would take the reader on a 21-century tailored journey into understanding the character of almighty God. But I knew that if I wanted to complete the extensive project before my ninetieth birthday, I had to find a powerful and efficient Bible software program. After carefully researching all the software available, I chose the Libronix Digital Library System from Logos.

I couldn’t believe how fast I could move through the Bible! There was no flipping through hundreds of pages in thick books to find the answer I needed. Now all I had to do was simply click on a reference… another click on a commentary… another click on ‘word study guide’… and another click on the original Greek or Hebrew word. Now I had instant access to the same resources used by the greatest theologians in the world.

Over the course of my five year sabbatical from medicine I wrote twelve books on God’s character that included hundreds of verses, each of which I had carefully studied with my Logos Bible Software. The books included with the software were theologically sound—dictionaries, commentaries, topical textbooks—all of which I could trust, and all of which I could afford. Without the help of Logos, I would still be writing this series today!

The Logos Bible Software program helped this unemployed medical doctor and first time author (with no formal theological training) secure a four book contract with the respected American publisher, Cook Communications. The first four books were published simultaneously in July 2006 under the series title, “An MD Examines” And because the Logos Bible Software allowed me the time to focus on carefully studying each verse, instead of flipping through pages just to find the verse, the books earned me the respect from many theologians, including the President and President Emeritus of Tyndale University College and Seminary, both of whom endorsed my book series. Thank you Logos for putting together such a valuable Bible software program unlike any other!

Sincerely,

Brad Burke,
MD Author of the book series, “An MD Examines”

As a fulltime author of Christian books, I have to live deep inside the Bible on an everyday basis. I have to be able to find the precise passage I need, make certain I’m using it correctly, and glean what insight I can—and speed is of the essence if I’m going to get my writing done. I have used Logos as the backbone of my work for years. Unfortunately I’m also a guy who hates to read instruction manuals and road maps. I’m looking for the shortcut, but I won’t stop to ask directions. I think, “Betcha there’s a faster way to make this happen in Libronix. If I can do this in ten clicks of the mouse, there has to be a way to do it in three.”

Well, the day came when I had to find those shortcuts. Cluelessness was no longer an option. I was asked to work on a book connected to the Hollywood film “The Nativity,” which was in theaters last Christmas. My mission was to produce a book filled with biblical and historical insights into the birth of Christ—in thirty days! This meant I had to become an expert on one area of the Bible in one month, and still have time to write it eloquently. It was time to stop and ask directions.

I decided to get up close and personal with the Libronix Help function. What I learned was that killer shortcuts lay to the right and the left of my daily route, and I had been passing them by.

My first eureka discovery was just how liberating custom toolbars could be. One click loaded workspaces, resources, whatever I needed.

Then, for the first time (please don’t taunt or ridicule me) I discovered what a keylink was. You mean I can double-click on a word and get the Bible Dictionary entry, or a map, or a topical listing—then change the parameters tomorrow? I had no clue what riches had been added to the Power Tools and Bible Tools since I started with Logos eight or nine years ago. The Passage Guide is sheer gold. My favorite, however, is the Word Study Guide. I learned how to use all these through the incredible “how to” videos that awaited me on the logos web site.

I don’t want to belabor simple features, especially since surely I’m the only dunce who wasn’t using them. My point is that I was able to write intelligently about Wise Men, shepherds, stars, King Herod, Jewish betrothals, prophecies, and many other topics in rapid succession, fulfilling my quick deadline. I could never have done it using “old world” research. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t have done it with my prior understanding of Libronix. The search tools, the power tools, and all the rest are not for geeks. They’re for anyone who wants to go deeper into God’s Word, and “redeem the time” all the while.

It was as if I lived next door to a terrific theological library, had the key in my hand, and never entered—just kept paging through my tattered paper Bible and commentaries endlessly. I used to feel rather “holy” while trudging along that way. Now I use Libronix and think about the words of Olympic sprinter Eric Liddell in “Chariots of Fire”: “God made me fast—and when I run, I feel His pleasure.”

“Gone, gone, where is our truck!” Early in the morning I had awoke with great anticipation in my heart. It was the day that my wife and I would move into our new home in Murrieta, California, where we had just planted a six month old church. But that day would be one we would never forget for another reason. When I walked outside to crank our U-Haul truck, it was gone! Someone in the night had stolen our moving truck in which was everything we owned. Everything...clothes, furniture, family photos, our two little boy’s toys, absolutely everything was gone except the clothes on our backs. After sixteen years of ministry I had a wealth of resources, books, sermons, photos, videos, and keep-sakes. All of it was gone. I cherished my library worth over $10,000, but it was gone.

"I had lost everything...except that which was eternal. I had my family, my church, and my Lord, whose grace was sufficient.

"A few months later I purchased a new computer and bought Logos Bible Software. Instantly, I had a library again. For hours I find myself “searching” its books, listening to hymns, and reading its wealth of research. Because of Logos I have found that I can do more studying in the same amount of time, utilizing more resources, footnoting my research, and even quickly researching the original languages.

"When a pastor was in the most need for a dependable library, Logos was there for me. Thank you."

"My name is Travis Freeman. I am 23 and a student at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In 1993 I lost my sight due to a severe sinus infection, and have been completely blind ever since. When I first lost my sight, one of the biggest struggles I had was reading and studying the Bible. I had a braille Bible, but I just had a hard time actually studying it. I did not have access to any materials that would help me in this, because they were all in print. For eleven years I had to depend on other people to do my Bible research. If I had a question about anything, I would tell it to someone and they would look it up for me in some commentary or other study tool. In January of 2003 I was introduced to Logos Bible Software Series X. I purchased the software thinking that it may be a little help, but I had no idea what it was going to do for me. Logos Bible Software, together with the JAWS 5.0 screen reader, has allowed me to have the access to study tools that any other person could use. Commentaries, dictionaries, concordances, and many other references were finally available to me. My personal Bible study has been taken to the next level because of this. I thank Logos for all that they have done for me, and would recommend it to anyone, especially someone who is visually impaired."

"I learned about this software at a conference in Dallas two years ago. My husband purchased a copy and his bible study was tremendous. However, I began to long for the extensive opportunities to study as he did. I remembered when before I became a mother being able to study the scriptures without distraction. However with a young son I did not have the quantity of time I needed anymore tending to the things of the home as the apostle Paul described. I began to get discouraged. I loved my family, but I longed for the time that I used to spend in the Word and understanding God's truth as I had when in seminary. I had felt as though I was in a dry place in the Lord. My bible study preparation lacked the excellence that I desired because of the homework time with my young son and all of his activities.

"Because of Logos I can utilize my time more efficiently and I don't feel like I am taking away much needed time in the ministry, in my home, with my husband and especially the time needed to dedicate to my son's natural and spiritual education. I would recommend highly to all mothers who are in the service of the Lord to use this wonderful technology. It has transformed me and provided me the opportunity to be refreshed by the water of the word."

"I’m a Senior Minister at a mid-size congregation in southern Indiana. I love writing sermons and that goes to say I love reference books to help me in sermon research. I have quite an extensive library that I use on a regular basis. Over the years I have tried various Bible study software and none of them were in depth enough or easy to use. A little over a year ago I enrolled to further my education at Hope International University and for a couple of the courses Libronix was required. In my text book order I received the Logos Bible Software Series X Scholar’s Library. Using it in the classes allowed me to become hooked on this software program. It is used on almost a daily basis as I research for my sermons and Bible studies. I feel this is a must for every minister’s library. I am thankful for the college introducing this valuable resource to me and thankful to the Lord for enabling people to produce this technology. If you want to expand your library and resource capabilities this is a must. In fact I even use the software’s daily Bible reading and prayer list features. This is a variable study and research tool…..Don’t miss out!!!"

"I'll be going to China as a missionary this year. After my seminary education here in the States I've to ship all my books to Saipan where I taught for 3 years which costs me US$300 (using book/media shipping rate) and now I've to shipped all my books from Saipan back home to Singapore which amounted to over US$500. Actually it is more than that if not for the fact that I've invested books in electronic form using Logos. I now have almost a thousand books in Logos format (based on a search on all unlocks). Imagine what I need to pay for shipping for all these books. Not only did I save on shipping but by buying books in collection (e.g. Word Biblical Commentary series), I've saved hundreds of dollars if not thousands.

"But my greatest obstacle is that I can't even bring books into China which is a restricted access country to the Gospel much like any Moslem country. But now with Logos, I can bring in hundreds and even thousands of books on a notebook computer without the fear of going through immigration. I've stored my books on a separate hard drive as an added protection. Although I've plans to go to China 6 years ago, it is now a practical reality through electronic books. Millions of souls are waiting to be saved and taught the Bible in China with a 1.3 billion population.

"Using electronic books is a joy as technology made it easy to read books on LCD screens and Logos has made full use of technology to made it easy reading such as smooth scrolling and flexible windows adjustment. I can do searches quickly for a thousand books in a few minutes as well as putting notes on the books as I made my study and prepare my sermons. Although I've other Bible software like BibleWorks and Ages Digital Library, I used Logos 98% of the time because of its vastly superior user interface as well as the broad base of scholarly reference books. I would highly recommend Logos for anyone going to the ministry especially a missionary."

"About two weeks ago I purchased the [Logos Bible Software Series X] Original Languages collection. I would have bought the Scholar's collection but could not swing it at this time as I am disabled and not working. However, I teach Sunday School and could not do it without this wonderful software collection.

"When I earned my Master's degree with an emphasis on Hebrew and other Semitic languages, I used many of the books that are present in the Original Languages collection. However, I am legally blind and for the last couple years have not been able to use my books because I could no longer see to read them.

"Now that I have these books on my computer, I can use my magnification program and study the Greek, Hebrew, Acadian, etc. as well as commentaries and Bibles that help me make my lessons come alive for my classes.

"Personal Bible study has always been very important to me and so is teaching. I believe in using primary sources whenever possible. I had to give up teaching for a while because I could not see the resources. Thanks to [Logos Bible Software] I can now do in depth Bible study for myself and for my teaching ministry at a level I have not been able to achieve in years.

"Thank you and thank God for the wonderful product you have produced. I will be adding books to my library as often as I can. I can't wait to add the Mishnah, and I'm hoping that I can add the Personal Bible Study which includes the Prayer List and the Compare Bible Versions addins next month."

Thanks again,

"Series X is absolutely incredible! I can't believe that I get so much value for so little. Logos has definitely outdone itself!

"Logos software has always been my favorite because it is powerful, affordable and easy to use. Although I have several different Bible programs on my laptop, I consistently find myself going again and again to my Logos software.

"And now, Series X has proven to be incredibly amazing! Now I never touch my other software, and am looking forward to taking it off my computer to free up space. I don't need the other programs, because Series X does it all!

"As a Pastor of a small church, I do just about everything. In addition, my wife runs a Maternity Home, wework other jobs,we are busy raising four daughters, and I'm trying to finish a book I've been writing. It just seems that there is never enough time to do everything. Because I place a lot of value on study and sermon preparation, I found myself spending many late nights, and most of my 'free' hours, preparing upcoming sermons, with books and Bibles spread everywhere. I constantly carried a huge briefcase and an additional book tote between my home and church office.

"Now Series X has enabled me to streamline my study time to almost a third of what it was, and allowed me to carry an entire library on my laptop. This has enabled me to more effectively use free time throughout the day: when I'm waiting to pick someone up, or in a hospital waiting room with someone, or when my wife is driving, etc. My study is more effective, my sermons are better, and I'm finding more time to be with my family! I'm also finding more time to spend with God -- which I believe is incredibly important if I am going to minister effectively. In addition, there are many great resources in the software library that minister to me personally, and give me just the 'pick-up' I need.

"Thanks Logos! You've helped make my days a little easier!"

Pastor John A. Taylor

"To Those Still Considering Whether or Not to Purchase Libronix Series X,

"As a busy pastor, the Logos Library System has been a great blessing to me for years. I had tried other Bible research software, but Logos 2.1 was by far the easiest, most convenient, and most thorough Bible software of all. I attended a Camp Logos workshop and was thrilled to learn from Morris Proctor all the things Logos could do to give me more time and material to study in preparation for sermons and lessons. I was able to accomplish so much more in less time, which gave me more time for pastoral visitation and more time with my family too! THEN Libronix Series X came out and honestly I was skeptical of how it could be better than the old system. I'm one of those guys who says, "If it isn't broken, don't fix it." But I bought it along with the Pastor's Library Collection and gave it a try. In the Pastor's Library I was able to get $3000 worth of books for under $200 because of the deep discounts given to previous Logos users. I have only had Libronix Series X with the Pastor's Library two weeks and am utterly amazed at how it instantaneously provides me with so much valuable research and information - information that I can actually use in my sermons and lessons. Libronix has breathed into my preaching and teaching a breath of fresh air, and all at an unbelievably affordable price. I wish I had not waited so long to make this investment in my ministry. The returns have already been fantastic, to me personally and professionally, to my family, and to my flock. I strongly encourage all pastors to make the same investment. You will be so thankful that you did.

"In Christ,"

"I have used Logos products for ten years now, and could not be more satisfied with them. Two weeks ago I upgraded my software to the Series X Scholar's Edition, and am deeply impressed at the vast number of improvements! It is amazing that such a good initial product could be made so much better!

"I use Logos Series X for sermon preparation, for church Bible studies, and for personal enrichment. After twenty years of pastoral ministry, I am now making the transition from a bound reference library to an electronic reference library, and Logos software is at the very heart of the effort! I have tried other Bible software programs that are on the market, but remain convinced Logos is the best value by far.

"I highly recommend Logos Series X, and feel it is one of the best investments a minister or a serious Bible student can ever make."

Dr. David R. Bess
Senior Minister

"I am a minister. The summer before I purchased my Logos software I was working on a DMin degree. I was doing a biblical word study on the word “confirm.” I wanted to see how it was used in the Bible and in later Church teaching. Since the early Fathers used the Septuagint and Medieval scholars used the vulgate, I needed to use concordances for both the Septuagint and the vulgate, as well as for the vulgate, and the Hebrew OT and the Greek NT. I spent weeks in the school library surrounded by all of these books and note cards, making lists of words in each, and checking the usage. I remember the concordance for the vulgate was an old leather bound book, published in the 1800’s. No one had ever asked for it before I was told.

"The next summer (this was several years ago) I purchased Logos. For fun I did a search for the word 'confirm.' In a flash, Logos turned up everything it had taken me weeks to assemble. As far as I’m concerned, Logos paid for itself with that single search."

Steve Zimmerman

"I rejoice that there is such a product as easy to use as this new Logos System. I have had the Scholars edition now and it has made me seem like a scholar with all the information at my fingertips. I am visually impaired and having a large screen computer both at home and at my job this product has been more than a blessing.

"As my fellow instructors and students have seen first hand the value of this tool as we have done research projects that have taken minutes and hours instead of days and weeks. They have now ordered their own Scholars library and are breathlessly awaiting its arrival.

"I am so thankful that Libronix has married my many libraries and made the search for info so easy. The hot parts of the text are fantastic, the more I use it the better I like it. Hoorah for all you that have had a piece of designing the best software possible for Bible study, you have made my life a lot easier.

"I am an associate pastor at a large Methodist Church in Memphis, TN. During an average week, my teaching responsibilities include teaching a bible study for young adults, leading a small group, and preaching every Sunday morning in one of our "contemporary" services. Just like most pastors, it is nearly impossible to study without interruption in my office. Prior to buying Logos I had no other choice. I rely heavily on the original language dictionaries and exegetical commentaries available. The books I need weigh a ton! Now I am able to take my laptop and find a hidden spot in the Church or the local library without compromising my preparation. Now I am finding my greatest problem is coming to the pulpit with too much information. I am having to learn quickly how to put the laptop away and write. I can not keep up with the amount of information at my finger tips. Thank you for putting together such an exhaustive and user friendly research tool."

"I am a retired minister, teaching in a theological college in East Africa. I have used Logos Bible software (level 4) for a long time. Since I had many books on my computer, I decided to give my 2,000 volume library to the college here and just use my Logos volumes. The college has benefited greatly and I am pleased to be more portable. Now that I have started using the Libronix software - wow! My decision has been confirmed. My preparations for class are more thorough and faster. With internet supplementation I have all of the library I need. Well, I confess I did keep several esoteric Hebrew language books I used at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. I feel that Libronix would be the first to digitize them anyway."

"I am thrilled with my Logos library! As a missionary to Ukraine, my laptop computer IS my library. The books that I have easily downloaded and unlocked onto my computer enable me to have instant access to my study materials wherever I am at - in the States, in Ukraine, or on the airplane traveling back and forth! What a blessing that I do not need to lug heavy books with me.

"When I sit down to study, I literally have a whole Christian library at my fingertips. When you're far from home and from all the resources that we have in the U.S., it's an incredible gift to have so much reference and devotional materal available!

"Keep up the good work, and keep producing materials! You have no idea how valuable they are to me in my ministry!"

"I am a missionary in Quito, Ecuador. My role here is pastoral, and I shipped 13 years of book and ministry resources down to Ecuador. Unfortunately, the entire shipment (which included all our household goods as well) was stolen and we lost everything we owned except the 4 suitcases we had with us when we arrived in Quito. Because of my shipping experience, I was nervous about ordering CDs to be mailed down to me. So I downloaded books and was able to unlock them via the internet. Logos eBooks now make the majority of my library, and are slowly replacing 'paper' books in my office. While I miss the notes I had jotted in the margins of many of my books, the search capabilities and speed with which I can find material is a nice compensation. Thanks Logos!"

"As a Wycliffe missionary doing Bible translation in Mali, West Africa, I don't have many options when I need books. The nearest library with Biblical reference works is 450 miles away--further, in fact, than a trip to Timbuktu and back again. Since Mali is a land-locked country, shipments by surface can take over a year to get here. The cost of airmailing books is double what the books themselves cost. Even that colorful CBD catalog has no allure for me, because I just can't get the books here!

"When I was ready to begin translation, I had several boxes of books shipped over, but found myself stranded here when my original language reference works did not arrive. (In fact, one of the mailbags didn't arrive until two years after it was sent!) I was translating the book of Genesis and was having trouble rendering a particular passage. A consultant recommended the Tanakh to me as an excellent resource. The problem was how to get it, and FAST!

"We have an e-mail service through Missionary Aviation Fellowship that works over short-wave radio from our village location. By contacting our headquarters, I was able to purchase the unlock code and receive it by e-mail in just two days. It helped me through that hard spot, and now the portion of Genesis on the life of Abraham is currently at the print shop.

"Since then, I have become the proud owner of the entire Scholar's Library. By airmail, it took only three weeks to arrive to our address in Mali. If not for the electronic books available through Logos, I would still be expecting my reference works to arrive sometime NEXT YEAR!"

"The bottom line up front about Logos is this system will make you a better pastor, preacher, teacher and servant of the Word.

"As the sole pastor of a growing Lutheran church in northern San Diego County, I am blessed in my ministry to be able to use Logos for sermon and Bible study preparation. I first heard about this system when serving as a US Army military chaplain on active duty. Some commanders purchased this system for their unit chaplains to use. I have to confess to being jealous of the Army chaplains who had this asset available in their ministry, especially the ease that this system was able to be used when deployed into tactical environments. It is like taking your entire reference library with you on a laptop computer. Now each day I marvel at the Biblical insights immediately available when I boot up Logos. The name of the company is perfect because the purpose of this software is to get people into "The Word". This software does this better than any any other.

"Three and a half years ago one of my parishioners shared this system with me before departing for seminary studies. Since then, I have been an avid user of Logos, adding upgrades by purchasing additional books and collections. When paired with Concordia Publishing House's 'Word, Witness, Worship' software, the speed and regularity with which I am able to access references has improved my ability to be a faithful and true servant of the Word. I know that Logos has helped me sharpen my preaching and teaching. It gets me into God's Word more thoroughly. That's why I recommend it.

"Logos is a growing, living system which allows you to quickly access God's Word in ministry. I purchased Steve Green's MIDI Hymnal last year which has several thousand hymns complete with texts and MIDI files. It interfaces seamlessly with the Logos system. What a blessing that turned out to be when our organist was sick. I simply located hymns for worship, copied the MIDI files onto a disk and then loaded those MIDI files into our digital piano. The result: instant music not just for my computer, but also suitable for worship when played through on our digital piano in our sanctuary.

"I am confident that Logos is a system that will expand and improve each year. If you are looking for a Word driven software that works easily as an overall system, Logos will not disappoint you. It will grow with you through a lifetime of ministry.

"Sincerely,"

Kenneth H. Roberts,
Pastor Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and Preschool

"I have been a faithful Logos user for many years now, and am always impressed with the power, flexibility and innovative features that continually place Logos far ahead of other Bible software. I use it for my own personal study and research, and my daughter uses it for her studies at the Christian college she attends.

"At our church, I teach a five week course called How To Enjoy Your Bible. During one of the sessions I cover Bible study tools. I bring in dozens of reference books for the attendees to peruse. Toward the end of the class I introduce them to Bible software. They are immediately impressed with the cost advantages and flexibility of Bible software over books. In the past I have presented three of the leading Bible programs to the class and have shown their strengths and weaknesses. Logos has always been the one that generates excitement. There is just no comparison.

"Now that I have begun using Series X, I'm not even going to waste class time demonstrating the other programs. Series X is absolutely amazing! Thanks again for providing us with such a user-friendly, powerful tool."

"I have had my Scholars Edition for just under a year now and man am I glad I got it. My friend and mentor Dr. L. A. King made me go to a Morris Proctor seminar to see what this thing is all about almost a year ago and I just finished my second tour with Moe and Cindy today.

"I can't begin to tell you all the time Moe has been able to save me with this great program engine and it's books. If you have this program you don't want to miss the seminar and all the little or should I say big tricks that you will be taught in order to have greater time to spend in hands on ministry. I can say without reservation that Moe is an excellent teacher, but let me also say it's Cindy that keeps everything rolling along.

"Way to go LLS and Morris Proctor Seminars what a team!!!"

Get Serious About Bible Study Workshop!

"Being a user of Logos Library System for several years now, I was glad to find a way to introduce this to my friends. Little did I know that it would open my own eyes to better ways to study the Bible and use the system.

"Our first workshop was a great success! I say first because others will follow! I had nine present and five purchased something. But what I liked was watching the amazement in their visual and verbal expressions as we went through the presentation. One time I had to stop just to allow them to talk about their discovery. One lady said, 'Now I know how the Bible study leaders I learn from discover their wealth of information to teach us.' My next workshop will focus on my Sunday School teachers and other ministers in my area.

"The workshop is simple and requires little preparation. Logos has done all the work for you and they will do most of the talking for you at the workshop. The presentation is simple enough that no one gets bogged down in a lot of technical stuff but in-depth enough that even experienced Logos users will learn better how to use what they have or get!

"I highly encourage you to call Logos and learn how you can help those you influence to really Get Serious About Bible Study!"

"I am the pastor of a church that is not big enough to support more than one pastor but still big enough to require more time than I seemed to have. I found myself neglecting three important areas as I worked to meet the demands of shepherding the flock. I would rotate the 'neglect' between family time, prayer time, and study time. It seemed one or two of these three area suffered weekly.

"Then I discovered the Logos Library System. What LLS has done for me is give me control of my time again. I am now able to do even more in-depth studies and yet spend less time. The time I save is that 'dead time' of running references, looking for that book that I think has a relevant point to my study, trying to come up with a perfect illustration, etc., etc. You know what I mean.

"LLS has done more than make be a better student, it has given me time back for prayer and time back for my family. Thanks Logos for making such an invaluable tool available. By the way, my church and family are grateful, too."

-Ken Ballard

"I served as a missionary in Albania for 5 years and went to this third-world country with Logos loaded on my laptop as the core of my reference library. Winters, in particular, left us without power and with my library on the computer, I could often do my theological study under battery via Logos when I could not have done it with books because there was no light anyway! The unrest and lawlessness there also forced us to evacuate the country, and rather than losing valuable studies and reference works, they went out of the country with me alongside in my laptop! The ability to do advanced searches and research flexibility was invaluable in a 1st century missions context like Albania. No overseas missionary should be without the Logos Library System!"

Steve Galegor

"I serve as a Chaplain in the US Army. I have my LLS loaded on my laptop.

"While serving for 11 months in Bosnia, I had my Library with me at all times. So when special services came up I had my ready sermon resource. Many times soldiers would come to me with theological questions and areas of interest, they were so pleased when I presented them with a print out of my research with scripture references printed as well. My Logos Library provided so many opportunities for ministry!"

"The Logos fever is catchy,

"I have owned the Logos Bible software for over 5 years! In that time I constantly went back to the old Logos 1.6 version. The reason, I was simply unable to do anything productive with the new Logos CD version. I felt like a fool. So, when the Camp Logos ventured out to the 'promise land' of western Washington I attended the first camp available.

"I was delightfully shocked by the difference of my before and after usage of Logos. I am in debt to the camp organizers to have had such a huge impact in my ability to use the greatest Bible software in the world.

"Since attending the camp, I have taught Sunday School classes in the value and usage of Logos Bible software. In addition, I have met with small groups of 2-3 in my office to instruct them in using the software. Logos is making a huge difference for teachers in our small isolated community in the NE corner of Washington.

"A huge thanks Camp Logos,"

Dave Hubbard

"First I want to commend you for the fantastic software and resources that you have provided for pastor and lay persons alike!

"Secondly I must share my thanks to a colleague for sharing one of the secrets to his ministry and preparation for preaching and teaching - Logos!

"I have been a user of Logos software for nearly 4 years now. As a pastor it is one of the most used software pieces I have and it clearly has the best cost benefit ratio of any of my software. I recently accepted a new call and was reminded as to why I believe Logos is the way to go - I packed all my Logos books in my computer bag instead of 10 different boxes weighing 50lbs each! I find myself checking every time I find a new book I am interested in to see if I might be able to get it in Logos format.

"Perhaps my favorite use is when someone calls me with a Biblical question. While on the phone I am quickly doing searches with Logos. When asked how I knew the answer so quickly I reluctantly let people in on my secret. The powerful search engine and linking make sermon and Bible study preparation a snap. I would encourage every pastor to purchase it for their own use but also go one step further. Logos is the perfect gift for someone entering seminary or Bible College. It is a perfect gift and a wonderful testament to your support of their endeavor."

Pastor Kevin Maxey

"I've owned Logos level 4 now for several years. It has been invaluable to me as I took classes in both Greek and Hebrew at Salt Lake Seminary.

"This past fall I had the privilege to teach a 'How to Study the Bible for All it is Worth' class at our adult Sunday school. My objective was to increase interest in Bible study and introduce tools to the students. Each week we would study out a 'fun' subject and I would introduce the use of a new tool such as a Concordance, Lexicon, Bible dictionary, etc. The last 5 classes were an actual Bible study in the book of Jonah. I used both the Logos Lesson Builder and regular Logos software to construct the lessons.

"The software was invaluable to create overheads, prepare lesson and reference materials. I'd hate to think what a job it would have been without the software. The final class was a computer software demonstration using a projector and laptop to demonstrate Logos software as a tool for the students.

"The feedback from the class was very positive. The class took a lot of the intimidation of Bible study away for many students and they now have an understanding of the tools to use and how to use them when a Bible question arises. Many are now participating in daily devotional reading and/or structured Bible study classes. Several owned Bible software but did not know how to fully utilize it for study but now do.

"Thanks Logos!!! God Bless!"

"Logos - helps in reaching seekers.

"Recently I planted a seeker targeted church and have found that Logos has helped me to be very effective preaching to seekers. Sermon preparation is different for a seeker targeted ministry. Seekers want to see how the Bible applies directly to their life. Therefore, they often relate better to a topical approach in preaching.

"Logos allows me to quickly view all the Bible says about a particular topic. The nice thing is I'm not limited to only searching in a topical Bible. I can quickly display all the Bible teaches on a particular subject by doing a word search AND a topical search in multiple translations.

"I help the seeker to understand God's word even better because Logos allows me to quickly view and choose the scriptures that uses the clearest wording for that topic. I view multiple translations of a verse, side by side, and find the one that speaks the clearest about the point I'm making in a message.

"Often seekers don't know how to use their Bibles. I discovered early on that they were often embarrassed about not being able to find a passage quickly. Since topical preaching requires referencing a number of scripture verses, it was vital I find a way for the seeker to be able to follow along with the message.

"Logos came to my rescue again! I place each scripture we're going to be using in the bulletin simply by copying and pasting from the searches I've done on that topic. DVI is a tremendous help and can be brought up right when I'm typing the bulletin! Now seekers are able to follow along verse by verse. Many tell me they take the bulletins home and do research on their own -- looking up the verses in their own Bibles. One seeker I know recently took the bulletin insert to work with him and witnessed to another coworker with the scripture printed on the bulletin.

"To further help seekers our church prints songs, scripture, and sermon outlines on a computer video projector so seekers can follow along. Because Logos is so compatible with other software, I can quickly find a passage and copy and paste it right into my presentations package with no trouble at all. The scripture appears for everyone to read on the overhead and we're all able to read it together.

"Its a lot of extra work to present the word of God to seekers in a way they can understand it clearly. I would estimate that Logos saves me at least 25 hours of research and typing time each week. It paid for itself the first two weeks!

"Logos - the word reaching seekers!"

"Logos is such a wonderful blessing for my ministry. I really didn't know it at first, but it has become an extremely valuable tool. I was a senior pastor for fifteen years in Richmond, VA. I was one of those guys who spent a lot of time every week piling my desk with stacks of some of my over one thousand books in my library. Some of my favorites books are old last century classics and show the wear, some with broken backs. Oh... how I wish that I would have had Logos Research System then. I wanted to buy it but kept putting it off.

"Then I resigned to become the Eurasia and Church Mobilization Coordinator with Grace Brethren International Missions. The demanding intensive weekly sermon and Bible study preparation ceased. Though I began preaching widely in churches around the country the preparation was not nearly as necessary. I even gave away many of my books to others who were building up their libraries. You can guess what happened! Right... someone gave Logos to me as a gift. So, NOW I get the program when I don't need it as much. So, I thought.

"Soon I was using Logos for my devotional preparation and occasionally for study, but I was using it for only rudimentary things. Then my ministry began to take on an interesting dynamic. Our mission leadership team began the necessary but daunting task of completely revising our church planning strategy. We were convinced that the Bible alone will give us the best strategy and that we would find all we needed to best further the kingdom through evangelism and church planting world wide in the Bible. Hour after hour we studied the Bible together... the missionary process of Paul, the book of Acts, the book to the Church (Ephesus), the metaphors used for evangelism and the Church, etc. Though others had smaller and less developed Bible search-type programs, Logos soon became an unseen part of our team.

"With my laptop always handy in our study and discussion sessions, I would be the one to whom we would turn when we had questions about a word or passage, or need to know where there were identical or similar words or passages, the Greek and Hebrew words and their meanings, ways other translations treated the passages or concepts, what commentaries and other Bible study tools had to say, etc, etc. It soon got to be a bit of a joke when we would ask.... 'Well, what does Logos say?' A few pecks and clicks later we would have an abundance of information!

"Logos didn't answer all of our questions. Frankly, probably one of its greatest values was to force us to ask more questions, to not ignore pertinent passages and perspectives that we might have overlooked. None of our libraries could have been researched so quickly or completely. Our strategy is being taught to our missionaries, staff, and churches...all over the world. Even now, when I am presenting it I go to my laptop to pull up the information appropriate to the discussion and questions others have.

"Thank you Logos... the library I carry in my briefcase and can hold on my lap!!"

- Wayne Hannah

"It's three o'clock in the morning and I lie here, sleepless. As usual. I've shut my bedroom door, moved a chair in front of it, and popped in the earplugs. But still I hear the voices calling me. 'Rob? Rooooooob! We're here for you! Don't you want to come and unlock us?' Those are the voices of my Logos Library disks. They're relentless. 'C'mon, Rob, we got some goodies here and YOU KNOW IT! Wiersbe, MacArthur--oh, the things you're missing!'

"I throw a pillow at the door. 'Leave me alone! I GOT the Deluxe Collection! Isn't that ENOUGH for you?'

"'The question is,' reply the voices, 'Is it enough for YOU? We've got the Early Church Fathers. They're right here! All those wise ancient leaders, sitting here in your own cabinet, and you can't have access to them--although we can fix that, can't we? Operators are standing by, Rob!'

"'Leave me alone!'

"'Okay, if you won't talk to us we'll just browse through, oh, some FIFTY issues of Christian History magazine. Gosh, look at this painting of Ulrich Zwingli--oh, but silly us, we forgot you CAN'T look at it. Or the complete archives of Discipleship Journal for that matter.'

"'STOP THAT!' I bellow. But I know deep down that I CAN'T stop. And THEY know it, too. Oh, how those disks love to taunt me with their extra Bibles and commentaries and devotional classics. How did I get myself into this? I remember: It all started with the Personal Bible Study set. The whole thing seemed so innocent. 'I can stop anytime I want to,' I told myself. And for a time, I was under control. But before I knew it, the King James wasn't enough for my exegetical appetite. I needed the New King James for a thrill--and the New International--why not? One thing led to another, and in time I was hopelessly addicted to Logos.

"It's only a matter of time, I realize, until I become a candidate for the TOTAL 5-DISK UNLOCK. And where THEN? With no more software to conquer, they may have to cart me off to the Logos Loony Bin.

"What time does the 12-Step Recovery Group start--and . . . and . . . does Logos have the curriculum?

"See? I'm hopeless."

-Rob Suggs

"I have been an avid computer user for almost fifteen years. I started off with an IBM PCjr and a Radio Shack Model 100. All of the programs for PCs were DOS-based at that time, including the Bible Programs.

"I would type my seminary notes in class on the small Model 100 (a notebook computer), then transfer them over to the PCjr by modem at 300 bps. It was a tedious process. Then I would type in each Bible verse referred to by the professor in class. Needless to say, it was a tedious process.

"The next step for me was to acquire a text copy of the King James Version. I would load parts of it into a 'RAM disk,' and then cut and paste the Bible verses, which saved much time, but was still cumbersome.

"Finally, in the late 1980s, I was able to buy a Bible program with both English and Greek texts. It was a real boon!

"After seminary I was called to serve in a large church where I had a little more ability to acquire Bible software. Over the years, I think I have tried all of the Bible Programs on the market. For a while, each program was leapfrogging over the other in features on almost an annual basis, so it was difficult to keep up!

"Still, about two years ago, I moved to a new church and was offered the opportunity to purchase the Bible software of my choice. I conducted another thorough research project, comparing feature to feature and dollar to dollar. I concluded that Logos 2.0 was by far the best package on the market for my purposes. I initially ordered Level 3, which gave me access to all of the Greek and Hebrew reference tools that I was interested in. Since then, I upgraded to Logos 2.1 with the Word Commentary Series, as well as several individual titles.

"I have been very satisfied with Logos. The support staff has always been very pleasant and helpful. I especially appreciated this when the mistake was my fault. One time I transferred Logos to a new computer and couldn't get it to work. The young man who answered my call patiently walked me through the entire process step by step to reconstruct all of my files and eliminate my mistakes.

"Logos has been a clear help in my ministry. I can quickly find verses on any subject. When I get a phone call, I can look up the verses while talking to the person. Also, I can do serious, significant biblical research and not pull a book off of the shelf. I no longer go back and forth to the church with piles of books in my arms! Though I have a library of well over 2000 volumes, the essence is all on my notebook computer. When I travel, I take it with me, and I find that I'm not cramped at all. What a blessing!

"Thanks for a wonderful program, and for a wonderful support staff to back it up."

Rev. Austin McCaskill, Jr. J.D., M.Div.

"Dear Logos,

"I want to thank-you for such an excellent product in the Logos Library System. It is considered a close 'member of our family' and is likely to be cherished as much as the beloved family dog!

"Personally, the system has greatly enhanced by ability to study God's Word. As a university student and an Adult Bible Class teacher, LLS has proven its worth over and over again. The countless hours of time saved in preparation for teaching Bible class justifies ownership of the system. However, the compelling feature for me is the depth of research able to be accomplished. Whether for personal growth, university studies or Sunday teaching, the ability to conduct extensive searches of words, topics, various Bible translations, commentaries, etc., is simply astounding! And to keep multiple windows open for quick recall only adds 'icing to the cake.'

"But a key, if not the main key, concerning my love affair with LLS, is what it has done for my wife's dining room! Here is a description of pre-LLS days... 'Anyone seen my concordance? Hey, honey, do you know where I put that commentary on Ephesians? Kids, did you move any of dad's books?'

"And here is the huge selling point from a family standpoint... no more, 'Honey, could we have dinner in the living room? I have all my books and study material on the dining room table and just can't stop now!' But now in post-LLS days, the table has been returned to its rightful function and misplaced books a fleeting memory!

"Thanks, LOGOS! What a blessing!"

Jim Sole

"I am no scholar. I am not a bible college student. I am not a pastor. But I have found LLS to be a tremendous tool in my study and work. I am a choir director and have somewhat of a leadership role in music ministry. Many times I know the verses I want to use in correspondence and devotionals, but do not recall the addresses. LLS is an aid to me in that.

"I hesitated in purchasing a bible software because I was unsure of it's usefulness to me, a layman. I have not regretted the purchase. To have the physical books now contained on my computer would not only be too expensive but would cause quite a clutter on my desk - not to mention a frustration in searching through page after page after page. I appreciate that LLS has allowed me to more efficiently check my correspondence against God's word.

"Thank you, Logos."

Joe Busolits

"While in the process of 'beginning' my dissertation in New Testament for several years, I had frequently looked longingly at various software packages to support my research. After many hours of product research, I decided to go with the Logos Scholar's Library. It seemed to have all the tools I needed with an interface that was easy to use. Besides, I couldn't pass up on the free necktie.

"I expected the Logos Scholar's Library to make things faster and easier. What I did not expect was that as I gained proficiency at using the LLS, I could do things that would have been impossible without it. Some types of searches I would not have even thought about without this tool by my side. In a very short time, I was using the LLS not only for my academic research, but also for preparing Sunday School lessons, sermons, youth materials, and my personal devotional time.

"The bad news is that visitors see dust on the Bible on my bookshelf and think I am not reading it."

Lew Worthington
Ph.D., 1999

"When I was in seminary, I wasn't privileged to own a computer with the capacity to handle Logos software (only a 20 meg hard drive!). Neither could my pocketbook. So I piled my dictionaries, lexicons and the like on my kitchen table, moving them around like sojourners seeking a country.

"A few years later at a Christian computing fair, I attended two Bible software demonstrations: one showing the versatility of the Logos Library System, and the other demonstrating the features of [competing package -ed.].

"After observing both in action, I walked away convinced Logos was the cutting edge in Bible software.

"Since then, I have acquired 120 books in the Logos Library System format as well as the Logos Lesson Builder. The Logos tools I own (and they are tools!) have rendered most of my theological books obsolete. A ten second reference search would take hours to accomplish with my 'hard copy' books.

"Not long ago during my annual evaluation at a church I was pastoring, I almost laughed out loud when I was complimented for having such solid command of Scripture in my sermons. Although I have a fairly good working knowledge of the Bible, I knew the real secret to my success: I had learned how to use my Logos software effectively.

"Currently, I work as a free-lance writer in Christian publishing while on a hiatus from pastoral ministry. The two primary programs I use are my word processor and my Logos software. I may not know everything I need to know, but I do know where to find the answers. My Logos software has become my resource of first resort. Thanks Logos for making my job easier and more effective. I'm your biggest fan!!!"

Mike Klassen

"I've been using Logos since back in the version 1.6 days. It was a dream come true. As a very busy seminary student and Sunday school teacher or youth leader, one of the things I was constantly wishing I could do was have a first class word processor and a first class Bible study program open on my computer at the same time. The advent of Windows 3.1 had finally made that a real possibility. So I scraped together my nickels and dimes and invested in two things: a great word processor and Logos 1.6. Several of my seminary buddies thought I was crazy. Logos wasn't the best known Bible software at the time. 'Why did you buy that program?' But the philosophy was sound and the interface premise was appealing. It was easy to use for ordinary research but also had a great deal of promise for original language work. I knew Logos had a future.

"Now, seven years and innumerable research papers, sermons and Bible lessons later, I can't imagine how I ever lived without Logos. When 2.0 came out, I went into debt to acquire a CD ROM drive and all those fabulous Greek and Hebrew tools. It was well worth it. I've never spent a few hundred bucks better than I did with that purchase. Now that I'm writing a book in addition to my usual Sunday school lesson preparation and various other projects, Logos saves me a few hours of work every single week. If I didn't have this software, there's no way I could do it. And I'm not even in 'full time ministry.' I expect to be before much longer, and I have no doubt that Logos will continue to be the most important ministry tool I own. I expect to go from saving a few hours a week to saving hours nearly every day. Computers have never been put to better use!"

Aaron Blumer

"My name is John Spracklin. I am a high school Bible teacher in Atlanta Georgia and I wanted to teach my students how to study the Bible. So I brought in a computer, projected the screen on the wall and showed my kids the basics of Logos. Three students (Steve, Josh, and Jimmy) fell in love with it. They like looking up the various meanings of the words in their original and looking at the different translations side by side. When we did projects they always came to get a pass so they could work on it during their study hall. One even asked to go to learn things on his own. 'Logos' became a popular phrase. Whenever I shared something neat in class they asked me if I got it from Logos. At their graduation from high school I was told that two of them had asked their parents for Bible programs as their graduation gift. Thanks for this program- it helps me gather information to teach them and it gives them a tool that they can use to begin to develop Bible study skills on their own!

"In Christ,"

John Spracklin

"I am a seminary student who is preparing for full-time ministry. As a student I must research a whole host of topics. I bought Logos and liked it so much I unlocked all four volumes and bought almost every Bible software product Logos makes (i.e. Early Church Fathers, Anchor Bible Dictionary, Word Biblical Commentary, ISBE, Calvin, etc.). I have now started to purchase everything from Nelson and Baker Publishers too.

"With over 800 books that fit in the size of a small carrying CD case, I can prepare papers or messages virtually anywhere and still have my library with me. With such a range of good Biblical books I can easily study out any topic or find any reference to a passage of Scripture that I am studying. Logos is a great tool for pastors and laymen who want to be able to easily find information. I use it extensively to understand the Greek and Hebrew without having to know the languages. With all the language works available I almost do not have to know that languages at all.

"Logos does to Bible software what the Internet did for information. I personally think that Logos is the greatest Bible software product I have seen in the market place--and I write software for a living.

"Thanks Logos and keep up the good work."

Andrew R. Rappaport

"As an Army Chaplain, I have been tremendously blessed by having and using Logos products. I am by the nature of my job, limited in the space and weight for my reference material. Instead of having no reference material or having to carry large, heavy boxes of books, Logos has made it possible for me to carry my library with me on deployments to El Salvador, Germany, Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Croatia. By having Logos, I am able to continue ministering to the troops on the same level as in garrison. One of the most practically useful features has been the Logos Hymnal. By using this resource along with portable speakers, my services have not suffered for music. Without the hymnal, there is NO WAY that I could maintain the quality of Services that I have and without the other reference works there is no way that I could have maintained the quality of preaching that I HOPE I have.”

"People often have questions they want to ask the preacher. Sometimes they are able to find him to ask and sometimes he is busy with other things and so the questioner postpones his/her question until another time. Often the answer is less relevant than it was at the time or the question never gets answered.

"To help fill this gap we are in the process of training several people to use Logos Bible Software to help find answers to people's questions. We have computer and the software available at the church on Sundays and other days of the week when services are going on. One of the trained staff is available to help with the software and find answers to some questions which people do not have time to ask the preacher.

"Thank you for some great software!"

Alton Vance, Minister
Norco Christian Church

"Almost two years ago, I was saved -- actually, I began my search for God in the Bible and daily readings about 6 months prior to that -- and once I was saved, I couldn't read, study or get enough of the Bible. However, I didn't want to go by others' interpretations, I wanted to read the Bible, know what each word meant, and then allow the Holy Spirit to teach me... consequently, I purchased Logos. WOW! Words I had read previously but never really understood took on a whole new and improved meaning... I wouldn't be without your software! As a matter of fact, the Logos software is as much a part of my Bible study and the Holy Spirit, my Bible and my daily devotional book.

"Thanks for helping me grow from milk to meat!!!"
