How Bible Study has Changed My Life
It hasn’t been too awfully long since I got serious about Bible study. I’ve been through the trials of life more times than I’d like to admit. I started to teach the adult Sunday school class a few years ago, and found that all I really had to offer these students was mostly what I heard another teacher or two tell me.
I decided to go to a school of Theology which was offered locally. This put my Bible study into high gear. I purchased the Libronix Silver Edition for my computer, and found the time savings of looking up scripture extremely valuable in Bible study. I was off and running.
I started digging up the answers to the questions my students were asking about. I was totally shocked at the amount of information I had purchased in the Silver Edition. Well, one search lead to another, than another. Before I knew it, I had so much to share with my class, and I was delivering to them what I was getting from my own Bible study. God is so faithful. We are told in II Timothy 2:15 .......” to study to show ourselves approved, a workman who needs not be ashamed.”
I’m not ashamed to share what I learn from God’s word, and I’m finding Bible study rather rewarding. I believe that on a whole, most believers are after the blessings of God, rather than His presence, or another way of saying it. “After His hands, not after His face.” Studying the Word of God, serious Bible study, will bring you to His face, His presence. There’s no seeking His blessings when they follow you. In fact, there is no way of escaping them.
Well, this has been extremely brief, but I’m now an associate pastor, and am really actively involved in many lives. My personal live has been drastically changed since I started spending study time in the Word of God. I made Him, Lord of my life, and never will I turn back. I’ve ‘purposed in my heart’ to always do the things He wants me to do. This of course includes the study of His Word. It’s my hearts desire to motivate you, to also start this exciting journey of Bible study.
