Visual Filters are mini-programs that let you markup a resource automatically. In v2.0 and newer of the Libronix DLS a "Summarization" filter is included as part of the shell. The Biblical Languages Addin adds a Morphological Filter (click View | Visual Filters) that lets you markup Greek and Hebrew Bibles based on their morphological coding (

In the example shown to the left, the Summarization visual filter has been applied to the text on the left and the Morphological Filter to the text on the right (using the dialog shown here). Note that in the Greek present, imperfect or future tense verbs are shown in red and all adverbs are highlighted in blue with yellow outlines. All of these are customizable user settings, and can be quickly turned off and on and stored for future use.

The Verb River report (
Click for video demo) is a powerful way to "step back and see the forest". It uses the "river" style graph to show the number of verbs with specified characteristics across an entire passage. In this example the entire books of Ephesians has been plotted with both mood and person. This representation of the text quickly reveals how Paul abruptly switches into the imperative mood towards the end of chapter four, in contrast to the first three chapters.
