Problems copying books to the Hard Drive
Problems Copying Books to the Hard Drive
Problem
You may experience the following types of problems while attempting to copy books to the hard drive:
- The Location Manager lists books to copy, and they seem to copy, but they appear grayed out in My Library.
- Books are only available in My Library when a Libronix disk is in a CD drive even though they have already been copied.
- Other similar problems.
Solution
Libronix stores information about which books are loaded to the hard drive in a cache file. Sometimes this file becomes corrupted and needs to be refreshed.
1. Refresh Resources through Libronix.
- Go to Tools | Options | General | Resource Paths.
- Click “Refresh Resources” on the bottom right.
- Restart Libronix.
If this does not resolve the problem try the second option.
2. Find and delete the Libronix SystemCache
- Close Libronix
- Go to Start | Search (or Find).
- Note: This is a hidden file, so you must turn on "show hidden files" in order to see it. You can do that in the search dialog under Tools | Folder Options | View. Select "Show Hidden files and folders." In the Advanced settings Window.
- Search for the file SystemCache.lbxdat on your C drive.
- When it is listed in the search results, simply delete it.
- Note: The path to this file is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Libronix DLS\Library\Cache\System
- Once you have deleted the file restart your computer and then return to Libronix. Wait for the notice “Discovering Resources” to disappear and then see if all the books are listed in My Library. If books are missing, insert your CDs and see if the Location Manager offers to copy them.
