Libronix Update Error Code 6 (Exception 0x800736b1)

Problem:
 

The following error halts the progress of an installation or upgrade of Libronix:

Error code: 6
Internal Error.
Exception 0x800736b1: This application has failed to start because the
application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix
this problem.

If you get an error message with a different Exception number see:

Libronix Update Error Code 6

Solution 1

1. 1. Close the window that has Error code 6 on it; if installing from a disc take out the CD.
   2. Run the Repair Manifests Tool if Windows XP is installed. Otherwise, click here to reinstall the MSXML 4.0 Parser.
   3. If the manifests were repaired or reinstalled successfully, continue with the following steps. Otherwise, contact technical support.
   4. Put the CD back in the drive or reinitialize the install from the download page.
   5. Click Update and this will install the final portion of Libronix.
   6. Libronix will now open correctly.

Solution 2:
 

Only use this solution if the first one has failed.

1. 1. Go to My Computer, and navigate to: C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\System.
   2. Delete the file LibSys.exe.manifest.
   3. Minimize this folder as you will be returning to it.
   4. Attempt the installation again.
   5. When the installation is complete click here: LDLS.exe.manifest  and download the file to C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\System.
   6. Click Yes when it asks if you want to replace the existing file.
   7. Now you should be able to open Libronix.
