Gesenius Hebrew Bundle Font Problem in Windows 98
Problem:
This product includes a Syriac Unicode font called Estrangelo Edessa that is not compatible with Windows 98. We have seen two types of symptoms on Windows 98 machines on which this font has been installed:
- In Libronix, selecting Syriac text may crash your system. The computer will freeze and you will have to restart.
- Fonts in other applications will change from letters to numerals or boxes. We have seen this affect Logos Library System (transliterated text), MSN Messenger (see example), Windows Media Player 9, and Quick Books.

Solution:
Since this font is incompatible with Windows 98, it should not remain on the system.
If you have been made aware of this problem prior to adding the Gesenius product to your Libronix Library, then during the installation process deselect the font Estrangelo Edessa from the Recommended section of the Libronix Update window and proceed with the Update.
If the font is already installed, go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Fonts and delete the font Estrangelo Edessa.
If the font does not affect other programs adversely, and you want to keep it on your system in order to view the Syriac text, make sure you save any important documents before using Gesenius in Libronix, and also avoid selecting the Syriac text.
