What is the XML Parser, and how do I fix it?

Answer:

The XML Parser is a component of Internet Explorer that Libronix needs in order to function properly. If it is not registered to your operating system's registry, or if it is corrupted or missing, it can cause a variety of problems including:

  • Script errors on installation.
  • Error 1721 or 1722 during installation.
  • When attempting to open the program, the Libronix splash screen graphic (logo) appears, goes away, and then nothing more happens.
  • Links in Libronix do not lead anywhere (this often occurs in Internet Explorer as well).
  • HomePage.htm and other .htm errors in Libronix.

Solution:

The Libronix engine version 1.1 and above uses the XML Parser 4. To register it, follow the instructions below for the XML Parser 4. If you have a version of Libronix that is earlier than 1.1 (check in Help - About Libronix DLS to find out), you should update to the new version. You can do this through Tools – Libronix Update if you have an Internet connection. You can also order an update CD for a minimal fee through Customer Service (1-800-875-6467).

If for some reason you cannot update Libronix, but you still need to repair the XML Parser, follow the instructions below:

Repair the XML parser 4

Go to Start - Run and paste the appropriate command:

RegSvr32 MSXML4.DLL
Click OK.
If this has worked, it will say "DllRegisterServer in MSXML4.dll succeeded."  Click OK.
Reboot your computer and see if this has fixed your problem.

If you are still having trouble, you can reinstall the parser.  Click on the link below to initiate the installation from the Microsoft website:

Repair the XML parser 3

Go to Start - Run and paste the appropriate command:

RegSvr32 MSXML3.DLL
Click OK.
If this has worked it will say "DllRegisterServer in MSXML3.dll succeeded."  Click OK.
Reboot your computer and see if this has fixed your problem.

If you are still having trouble, you can reinstall the parser.  Click on the link below to initiate the installation from the Microsoft website:
