Cannot copy books

Problem:

My Libronix resources will not copy from the CD or DVD.

  • Location Manager says, "All unlocked resources have been copied to your hard drive" (version 3.0 and above) or "No resources matching the criteria were found" (version 2.1d and below), however, there should be more resources listed.
  • Books that have already been copied to the hard drive do not appear in My Library. 

Solution:

Please do the following: 

1. Check resource paths.

Libronix must look in the right drive or path on your computer to locate your books.

  • Go to Tools | Options | General.
  • Select Resource Paths.
  • Make sure the default path is listed at the top of the Paths: window (C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources or custom path). 
  • Remove any invalid drives or paths; ie. ones that are no longer connected or available.
  • Remove X:\Books (where X is the drive letter for the CD or DVD drive).
  • Click Refresh Resources and OK.
  • Close Libronix, wait at least 15 seconds, and then open Libronix.
  • When the program reopens watch for the words "Discovering Resources" in the lower-right corner of the window. When those words go away, if there are books to copy, you may see a tip directing you to the Location Manager (Tools | Library Management (or System Tools) | Location Manager) which will help you copy the unlocked resources to your hard drive.

2. The proper settings in the Location Manager are:

  • List Resources: Unlocked on Removable Media
  • Destination: C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources (or your custom installation or preferred location).
  • Make sure the books you want to copy are checked (all are checked by default).

3. The collection you purchased may not have unlocked books on every CD.  The Scholar's Library, for example, includes unlocked books on only discs A, B and C.

4. When the Location Manager says, "All unlocked resources have been copied to your hard drive" or "No resources matching the criteria were found," it can either mean that there are no unlocked books on that disc, OR that you have already copied all unlocked books from that disc to your hard drive. If you are not sure that all your books have been copied, go to ToolsLibrary Management (or System Tools) | Bibliography and get a complete listing of your books and a total resource count. You can compare this list against the list of books on the back of your box or on the internet www.logos.com/products.
