Search for Multiple Phrases

Overview
You can search for multiple phrases or a combination of phrases. A phrase is a sequence of words within the text of the book(s) that you are searching. For example you may want to search for use of the phrase "by the blood" or "washed by" within all your Library’s Bibles.
Instructions
To search for multiple phrases, follow these steps:
- Run Logos.
- From the Edit menu, click Search....
- Click the Options tab.
- Click the Search Type drop box arrow and select Concordance.
Note: Do not select Phrase.
- In the Search Query text box, type the phrases for which you want to search.
Use the ph( ) phrase operator and separate each phrase with a Boolean expression command. The following example searches for the phrases "by the blood" or "washed by." The required phrase operator syntax is boldfaced in the example, and the Boolean expression command is "OR." To see commands for other Boolean expressions (such as AND or WITHINVERSE), select the Operators tab. Select a command and refer to the Usage description box for an explanation of the command.
ph(x) Boolean expression ph(x)
For example:
ph(by the blood) OR ph(washed by)
- Select the Search Range drop box arrow and select the range of books to search if necessary.
- Click Search to begin searching.
