Overview
Fast-Start workspaces are a Quick Start feature that that tailors your session for specific Bible study activities and products. The workspace is the selection and arrangement of open books, notes and search results on your screen. It can be compared with the books and tools that you would arrange on your desk before working on a study. A well-arranged workspace can greatly enhance how you work.
Based on the Logos Bible Reference Series or Scholar’s Library book collections, the Fast-Start workspace opens, arranges, links and sets the books and features that many customers will find useful to do the task at hand.
This article provides general instructions about how to use the Bible Study workspace. See the TechResponse article "Use Fast-Start Workspaces" for introductory information.
Instructions
The Bible Study workspace is designed to study the Bible for longer sessions than a devotional study and to use commentaries, Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon and Easton’s Bible Dictionary.
To load the Bible Study workspace, follow these steps:
- From the File menu, click Load Workspace....
- Double-click the version of the Bible Study workspace name you want to load.
Caution: The windows that are opened depend on what books you have unlocked in your Logos Library System. All the Bible, cross-reference and commentary windows may not appear.
When you load the Bible Study Fast-Start workspace and you have a Bible Reference Series or Scholar’s Library collection in your Logos library, up to eight books and linking and cross-reference features automatically are opened and set for you. The King James Version (KJV) Bible is opened twice, once as the primary Bible window and once as the Bible target window.

The Bible Study workspace is divided into five functional areas to assist your Bible study.
Primary Bible
The primary Bible window is your starting place for Bible Study. The King James Version has been selected because it includes Strong's numbering and TVM information in addition to the biblical text. This information will assist your inquiry into the Greek/Hebrew language origins of English words.
Bible Target
The Bible target window is where you look when you select a cross-reference. The cross-reference appears in the Bible target window where you can read it without losing your place in the primary Bible window. The King James Version has been selected as the Bible Target Window because it is included in all of the Logos Bible Reference Series collections. However, you may replace this version with any versified Bible of your choice.
Cross Reference
The cross reference area presents the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge. This resource provides an abundance of added cross-references that are linked to your primary Bible.
Definitions
The definitions area presents book windows for dictionaries, lexicons and TVM verb parsing. When you double-click on a word in one of the functional areas, additional information appears a window in the definitions area.
All Bible Reference Series and Scholar’s Library collections include:
- Easton’s Bible Dictionary
- Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon
- Tense Voice Mood (not unlocked in the Standard collection)
Note: You may want to purchase or "unlock" a book to use it. Go to the Logos Web site at http://www.logos.com/ebooks/ to view our book catalog or http://www.logos.com/products/ to purchase a book collection.
Commentary
The commentaries area presents widely accepted commentaries that are linked with the primary Bible to provide additional background and insights pertaining to your study. The commentaries you have opened depend on your Logos Library System book collection.
