Restore the Logos Splash Screen
Replace the LLS Splash Screen
The information in this article applies to the following products:
- Logos Library System software version 2.0 and above
Overview
When you install Logos software such as the version of Logos included with the Bible Reference Series, the default startup splash screen is an animated graphic that represents your books being added to bookshelves. The splash screen is what is displayed on your screen as the program is starting. When you install additional Logos Library System (LLS) products, the new product’s Setup program may replace your original LLS product startup splash screen with a new screen. You can restore the original Logos splash screen, or you may direct LLS programs to use a graphic bitmap file (*.bmp) of your own choice.
To direct Logos or Logos-compatible programs what splash screen to use, use a text processor such as Notepad or a word processor such as Word to open the C:\WINDOWS\Logos20.inii file (where C: is your hard drive letter name) and modify the SPLASHSCREEN= statement. If you delete the value after the equal sign (=) or if there is no value assigned to the statement, when you run Logos it will default to the original Logos “animated books” splash screen. If you enter a bitmap file name as the statement value, when you run a LLS product it will display the graphic you named.
Caution: Be extremely careful when you work in the Windows directory and edit the Logos20.ini file. Do not modify or delete any other files in the WINDOWS directory or folder or any other statements or sections in the Logos20.ini file.
Instructions
If you are running Logos, click the close box to quit Logos.
